Boxing fans who have been waiting for the unified welterweight title fight between Errol Spence Jr. and Danny Garcia may have to wait a little longer. But one benefit of the delay is that they may be actually there to watch the anticipated fight. Alas, there’s new news in the world of Errol Spence-Danny Garcia.

The Spence-Garcia title fight has been delayed two weeks from its original schedule, and is now set for December 5. The pay-per-view event will be held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas, the home field of the Dallas Cowboys.

The fight was originally scheduled on November 21, although Premier Boxing Champions, the promotion that handles the two fighters, did not announce a specific venue. The move to delay the fight was seen as a way to allow more fans to be physically present at the venue.

The 29-year old Errol Spence (26-0, 21 KOs), who holds the WBC and IBF welterweight belts, will be making his fifth defense of the IBF title and his second defense of the WBC belt, which he won after beating fellow top middleweight Shawn Porter via split decision in September last year. This will mark his return to the ring since he was involved in a single vehicle accident in October that left him with serious injuries. The champion, however, insists that he hasn’t lost a step since recovering from the injuries.

“Having my comeback fight be in front of my hometown fans at AT&T Stadium is added motivation and a dream come true,” Spence told BoxingScene.com. “It means even more because I’m going up against a great champion in Danny Garcia. I know people are looking out to see if I’ve lost a step or won’t be at my best, but I’m 100% focused and everything is on point in training camp.”

32-year old Danny Garcia (36-2, 21 KOs), meanwhile, returns to the ring for the first time since defeating Ukrainian Ivan Redkach via unanimous decision last January. Nonetheless, the world of boxing is gearing up for Errol Spence-Danny Garcia.
