The Cleveland Browns are arguably the biggest disappointment in the NFL in the 2021 season. They were supposed to build on a fantastic 2020 campaign in which they made the playoffs for the first time since 2002 season, especially after acquiring Jadeveon Clowney in the offseason to give Cleveland's defense a much-needed shot in the arm. But even a pass rush that features both Clowney and Garrett was not enough to push the Browns into the next level.

Nevertheless, Garrett wants the Browns to retain Clowney, as he clearly expressed in a recent statement, per Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland.

#Browns Myles Garrett said he's been trying to get Jadeveon Clowney to re-sign with Cleveland.”I want him here.”

Cleveland isn't making the playoffs, which has already been ascertained when the Browns fell prey to the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 26-14 loss at Heinz Field in Week 17. With a 7-9 record, the Browns just want to close out their season with a win in Week 18 over the Cincinnati Bengals at home, a game that could be Clowney's last in Cleveland uniform.

The top pick in the 2014 NFL Draft is playing on a one-year deal worth $8 million with the Browns, so his future with the team is a bit cloudy at the moment. Cleveland's front office will have to rethink the direction of the Browns, considering the the frustrating campaign the team is about to finish this Sunday.
