The NFL world will have to get used to a new reality next season – one that doesn't include Tom Brady. The legendary quarterback announced his retirement after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were eliminated from Super Bowl contention. But according to Rob Gronkowski, we won't need to get too comfortable with the arrangement just yet.

Brady's Bucs teammate was vocal on the possibility that Tom Brady may not be 100% done with the game of football. Speaking to USA Today, Gronk predicted that Brady's outlook on playing may change in a couple of seasons.

Via Josh Peter:

“The guy can play at any age,’’ said the Buccaneers tight end on Tom Brady. “If he’s 50 years old he can still come back. I think he’s going to come back but in a couple of years. The guy’s a beast. He can play anytime.’’

While Tom Brady seems resolute with his retirement at present, you can never really tell how things stand in a year or two. We saw Michael Jordan come out of retirement after leaving his own game as the greatest to ever do it. After a few years in and around the game, the itch got to MJ enough to return after a 3-year hiatus.

We need not look far for a football comparison, as Rob Gronkowski ended his own retirement to join Tom Brady on the Buccaneers.

While Brady won't be around for next season, Gronk himself has questions surrounding his status. The 5-time Pro Bowler isn't ready to commit just yet on whether he suits up for Tampa Bay next season, or any team for that matter.

“I’ll figure all that out in the future,’’ he said. “Let everything play out, then make a move. So I’m just relaxing, letting my body heal, have a good time, have some laughs.

Gronk may be a man who lives in the moment, but even he seems to believe there's a legitimate chance Tom Brady comes back. We'll just have to wait and see if his prediction comes true.
