Before Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Adam Silver held his annual press conference where he talked about everything involving the state of the NBA.

One of the questions he was asked about involved the way Sterling Brown was treated by Milwaukee Police during an incident in January. Silver said the video was horrific and he has been in contact with Sterling, and also his father who was a police officer in Chicago for 30 years.

“I think for any of us, regardless of the fact that he’s an NBA player, it was difficult to watch. It’s painful,” Silver said via USA Today. “I will say that as a result of whether it’s police officers wearing cameras on their body, the transparency that the Internet now provides through that sort of distribution, I think in my sense it’s not necessarily the case that society has changed in the last few years.

“It’s that now that in a very positive way, people like me who aren’t subjected, frankly, to that kind of treatment, are becoming much more aware of how a certain part of our society views law enforcement and their interactions with law enforcement.

Police had said that Sterling Brown was the aggressor when he was confronted at a Walgreens about parking in the handicap parking spots.

The body cameras appeared to show different though, and some of the officers were disciplined for their role in tasering Brown.

Before the video was released, the city of Milwaukee prepared for the backlash that might have come from the video, but there were no violent protests that came from it.

There have been a lot of people who have spoken out about how wrong the way Brown was treated that night was.

The Bucks have already voiced their support for Brown through various releases.
