A week after the NBA suspended the 2019-20 season due to the coronavirus, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks is already missing the game.

Via Instagram, Antetokounmpo shared his sentiments in his first post since the NBA suspended the season indefinitely.

The Bucks' last game was on March 9, just a few days before the season's postponement. So it's pretty easy to understand Antetokounmpo's feelings. Besides, for NBA athletes, the hardwood is their sanctuary. It's their place of refuge and respite. If things are not going well in their personal lives, a trip to the basketball court would alleviate their negative feelings.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver completely understands this. In a recent statement, he knows that most players are going ‘stir-crazy' and are itching to play. And so owners and executives are trying to come up with ways to resume the season in a safe and healthy way. Per Tim Bontemps of ESPN:

“I have heard from a lot of our players … they're going stir-crazy, they want to play, they want to compete. Players as you know, I mean, unlike a lot of us in our positions we can just go back to what we were doing, but every player is fighting something that's unwinnable, and that's the aging process. So a lost year or lost portion of a season in their careers is very different from other people, so we're gonna try by every means we can to play basketball again, but I say that the safety and health of our players is first, and our fans, which is why I don't want to speculate more on that.”

Time can only tell when the COVID-19 pandemic will loosen its grip. For the meantime, even though it might be difficult for some, the right thing to do is to follow the advice of medical experts: stay at home and diligently wash your hands.
