When Giannis Antetokounmpo was thinking about his future with the Milwaukee Bucks and whether to sign an extension with the team, he had one particular fear that he never wanted to see happen.

Antetokounmpo gave a few statements on Wednesday after signing his five-year, $228 million supermax extension with Milwaukee. During the video press conference, he stated that the thought of people burning his jersey was definitely a concern:

“I’ve seen people decide to leave and they burn their jerseys. I didn’t want that to happen to me.”

The reigning MVP had until Dec. 21 to decide as to whether or not he'd sign the max extension that was brought forth by the Milwaukee brass. At first, it appeared to be a simple decision for the 26-year old, but later developments suggested that the 6-foot-11 forward was allegedly considering his options with other clubs.

One of those particular clubs was the Los Angeles Lakers, which led to the rumored stalling of Anthony Davis with his extension as well. Similarly, the same could be said for the Miami Heat.

The Bucks are looking to find more ways to build around Giannis Antetokounmpo since they'll be housing him for the prime portion of his career. While they were able to trade for Jrue Holiday, the front office doesn't seem to be ready to cease fire yet. It has been reported that the Greek Freak desires to play with Bradley Beal, which could make a trade down the line a possibility.
