Washington Wizards head coach Scott Brooks says when he was younger, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was in “awe” of Kevin Durant.

Brooks coached Durant on the Oklahoma City Thunder and remembers a young Giannis just being star struck while watching Durant warm up.

Now, Giannis is arguably the best basketball player in the world and has the Bucks thinking championship or bust:

The Bucks have a great shot of winning the East this season and ultimately winning the championship. For that to happen, the Bucks will need Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe to play at a high level once the playoffs start and be effective second and third options on offense, respectively, behind Antetokounmpo.

Just like last season, the Bucks have the best record in the NBA. Antetokounmpo could very well win his second straight MVP award, too. He’s averaging 30.0 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists while shooting 55.2 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from beyond the arc and 61.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Now that Durant is in the Eastern Conference, we will never see him and Giannis face off in the NBA Finals. However, we might get to see Durant and Antetokounmpo go at it in the Eastern Conference playoffs next season. Durant will suit up in 2020-21 after missing all of this season rehabbing his torn Achilles.
