Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Kevin White has struggled to find his footing in the NFL thus far in his career. Regardless, it appears head coach Kliff Kingsbury is still optimistic about his potential growth.

White signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals this offseason following an unsuccessful stint with the Chicago Bears.

According to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss, Kingsbury is confident that he can still be a solid addition to their receiving corps:

“That's what we're trying to find out,” Kingsbury said. “I think just a fresh start [is what he needs]. He had some tough injuries. He's still 6-3, 205 and ran a 4.3 at the combine. And so, we got to try and see what he's got, because I watched it in person on the sideline and he can be a dangerous player and we're hoping that that's what we get.”

Kingsbury is certainly taking a hopeful approach to White's arrival. Chicago made quite the investment when they selected him with the seventh overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft thanks in large part due to his stellar showing at the Scouting Combine.

Unfortunately, he was never able to justify the pick due to a number of severe injuries that limited him to just 25 receptions and 285 yards during his time in Chicago.

Perhaps a change of scenery could be just what White needs at this point in his career. Spending a year under the tutelage of a young, offensive-minded coach like Kingsbury could also do wonders for his development moving forward.

Of course, only time will tell whether or not he is truly capable of becoming a viable option in the passing game.
