Kyrie Irving is trying to make a fan out of another major superstar in another sport. The Boston Celtics point guard sent an autographed jersey of his to Brazilian soccer superstar Neymar, who seemed to enjoy the gift.

Irving and Neymar share a couple of notable similarities. They are both are incredibly talented, championship-winning players. They've both worn No. 11. And over the summer, they both left teams with which they had so much success because they wanted to lead their own teams and escape the shadow of their teammates, who were widely regarded as the best players of their respective sports.

For Irving, he left the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James for the Boston Celtics and for Neymar, he left mighty Barcelona and the great Lionel Messi to be the premier star at Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar is a big NBA fan. He has a particularly close relationship with the Golden State Warriors, especially when fellow Brazilians Leandro Barbosa and Anderson Varejao were with the team. He seems friendly with Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

It's still a bit of mystery why Irving even sent an autographed jersey to Neymar in the first place and whether that gesture can be enough to change the Brazilian’s allegiances to Boston. As for the latter, he may need to get to the Finals this season and face the Warriors to find out.
