The Los Angeles Chargers still have yet to decide on their quarterback after parting ways with Philip Rivers this offseason. Regardless, this has not stopped them from shoring up their protection along the offensive line.

According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the chargers have signed former Green Bay Packers tackle Bryan Bulaga:

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport confirmed that it is a three-year deal worth $30 million:

The Chargers agreed to terms with former Packers RT Bryan Bulaga, from Iowa, on a 3-year deal worth $30M, source said. More help on the offensive line.

Bulaga was initially taken in the first round by Green Bay in the 2010 NFL Draft. Although he has never been to a Pro Bowl, he has still established himself as a model of consistency over the past decade. It is clear that Los Angeles is hoping he can once again serve as a stabilizing factor up front.

Bulaga will now be tasked with helping to fortify the right side of the Chargers' offensive line. Although injuries have been a concern throughout his career, he is coming off perhaps his healthiest year yet after playing in every game during the 2019 NFL season.

Of course, it remains to be seen which quarterback Bulaga will be blocking for. Rivers has since signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts for the 2020 NFL season.

It is safe to assume that the Chargers are hoping to make a splash under center as they get set to usher in a new era at SoFi Stadium, however, the quarterback market in free agency continues to grow thinner by the day.
