Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger is looking at a possible huge payday in the next transfer window.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the current season, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger could become one the highest paid defender in history with a staggering “£400,000 pay packet,” The Mirror reported.

The aforementioned figure is the approximate amount of money Rudiger is set to earn once he decides to part ways with Chelsea at the end of the season, the report said.

Bundesliga side Bayern Munich and Serie A outfit Juventus are believed to be favorite landing spots for Rudiger, having been keeping tabs on Chelsea’s crowd-favorite defender.

The report also noted that a move for Rudiger is also expected to be made by any of suitors in the Januray window.

Rudiger had fallen out of pecking order under former Chelsea manager boss Frank Lampard but has been an important player for current Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.

Addressing his player’s situation, Tuchel made it clear that he wants Rudiger to stay.

“I hope that they find a solution but it's not only between coaches and players,” Tuchel said of Rudiger transfer rumors last week via Eurosport.

“It's between the club and the player's agent,” he explained. “[Rudiger] He plays excellent for a long time – very consistent [and] at a very high level. i feel him very calm, very focused and it's obviously not a distraction for him. So give things time – sometimes it needs a bit longer, sometimes things get very fast. There's no news from my side.”
