The NBA hiatus isn't stopping Los Angeles Clippers guard Patrick Beverley from taking a swipe at LeBron James and the rest of their archnemesis Los Angeles Lakers.

The 31-year-old Clippers defensive ace had some fun at The King's expense during his NBA 2K20 match-up against Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside on Friday.

Up by double-digits in their Players-Only Tournament clash, Beverley taunted Whiteside as he committed a turnover in-game while using LeBron James and the Lakers.

Whiteside botched an alley-oop pass using James, much to the delight of Beverley.

ā€œVideo game James, he's got some years on him now. He can't just be jumping all over the rim now,ā€ Bev said.

Ā

The Clippers guard's trash talk, meanwhile,Ā  is a bit inaccurate considering James is having yet another phenomenal season.

The real LeBron James, now 35 years old, is now on his 17th season in the league and doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.Ā LeBron notched 25.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and a league-leading 10.6 dimes per game in 60 appearances.

Prior to the suspension of games brought upon the COVID pandemic, the Clippers and Lakers figured in an intense on-court rivalry to see who will reign supreme in the stacked Western Conference.

The Clippers got the better of their first two matchups on opening night and Christmas Day, while the Lakers roared back in their third game. It remains unclear if fans will able to see that highly anticipated fourth meeting this season.

Beverley, meanwhile, went on to advance to the next round of the tourney after thrashing Whiteside, 85-54. He will play the winner of the DeMarcus Cousins versus Andre Drummond match.
