Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was left out of the top 100 NFL players in the league this year, a list voted on by NFL players only. But, instead of complaining about the omission, Prescott is using it as motivation:

“One of the biggest compliments is from a peer. So I guess you can take that the other way when you're not getting it,” Prescott told Fox 4's Mike Doocy on Thursday. “It should motivate you. When you see that list and there's 100 guys — yeah, it lights a fire.”

Eight of Prescott's teammates made the list, with Ezekiel Elliott, DeMarcus Lawrence, Tyron Smith, Zack Martin, Jaylon Smith, Amari Cooper, Leighton Vander Esch and Byron Jones all placing in the top 100.

Prescott did make the top 100 list back in 2017, when he ended up 14th after leading the Cowboys to a 13-win campaign during his rookie campaign in 2016, but he was left off the list completely last year and this year.

The 26-year-old is coming off of a season in which he threw for 3,885 yards, 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions while completing 67.7 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 96.6 en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

Prescott, who played his collegiate football at Mississippi State, was originally selected by Dallas in the fourth round (135th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft and was pressed into starting duty during his rookie year after an injury to Tony Romo. He went on to make the Pro Bowl during his first season in the league.
