The Dallas Cowboys have clarified what injury Pro Bowl wide receiver Amari Cooper has. Stephen Jones joined 1053 The Fan to talk about the injury; he said his injury is more of a muscle strain in his foot, according to The Athletic's Calvin Watkins.

Earlier this week, ESPN's Todd Archer clarified that Cooper would not play against the Houston Texans for the third, “dress rehearsal,” preseason game in Dallas. He likely won't play in the fourth preseason game, considering that NFL teams rarely to never play their starters then. Cooper said that he has plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He's dealt with the injury before, but he notes that it doesn't affect his play; as he can remain productive.

“[I can be] real effective [with the injury]. I mean I played with a lot of foot injuries. High ankle sprains. All those things, so I’m pretty good at playing with foot injuries. But I don’t think I’m going to have to play with it.”

“I’m not worried about it at all, because I know if it does linger, it doesn’t matter. I had 1,000 yards when I played on plantar fasciitis before,” Cooper said, per ESPN.

According to the Mayo Clinic,  plantar fasciitis is,

“one of the most common causes of heel pain. It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia).”

Though Cooper is dealing with the injury, he should be back in action for the team's first regular-season game — on September 8th, versus the New York Giants.
