The NFL offseason is well and truly underway for many teams in the league. Every team has started their practices together, as they look to take a shot at the 2022 Super Bowl crown. However, the Dallas Cowboys seemed to hit a speed bump during their practices, leading to punishment from the league.

According to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, the team was punished for violating NFL regulations regarding practice sessions. According to the league, their practices were “too physical”. As a result, head coach Mike McCarthy has been fined $100,000 dollars for this infraction. The NFL also docked Dallas one of their organized team activities for 2023. (via ABC News)

Interestingly, this isn't the first time the Cowboys have been punished for a similar offense. The team was also slapped with the same punishment in 2021 along with the San Francisco 49ers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Back then, the organization was hit with a $100,000 fine, while McCarthy was fined $50,000.

The Cowboys had a rather interesting off-season for themselves. Much like most of the NFC, the Cowboys did not make any mind-boggling additions to their team. In fact, they lost a couple of important pieces on both ends: La'El Collins, Amari Cooper, and Randy Gregory were among the notable subtractions from the team.

The Cowboys should still be the favorites to win their division, though. Dak Prescott is miles ahead of any quarterback in the NFC East, and the rest of the division had one major addition at most (Eagles grabbing AJ Brown). We'll see what happens to this team once the season kicks off.
