Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman is loved by America's team's fans and he usually doesn't have many bad things to say about his former team. That trend continued on Sunday when he was asked about Dak Prescott and his feelings about the Cowboys current quarterback saying players should stand for the National Anthem.

Aikman tried to tiptoe around the question when he was asked about it at the opening of his new restaurant  Troy’s, in Arlington, Texas. Aikman ultimately said that he thinks Prescott should be able to say his feelings about the protests just like the players who want to protest.

“Everyone has their opinion and is certainly entitled to what they feel is best for them — what the flag means to them and what social injustice means to them and how exactly do you protest,” Aikman said Friday, via Jori Epstein of the Dallas Morning News. “Dak came out with his opinion and just like all of the others who have had their opinions, I think it’s good. I think it’s good to share those so maybe we can reach something that makes sense to everyone and get all this figured out.”

The NFL and the NFLPA are still trying to figure out a solution for the National Anthem controversy that will make both sides happy but that seems like it might be impossible at this point. On the opening week of the preseason, there were some players who stayed back in the locker room and some who protested, but all the Cowboys players were standing.
