Triller Fight Club Legends II was quite a controversial event. Including names such as Donald Trump and Vitor Belfort fighting someone in their late 50's will do that.
Belfort beat 58-year-old Evander Holyfield by TKO in less than a minute in their boxing match. The referee put a stop to it after Belfort starting spamming punches.
Surprising guest commentator Donald Trump and his son, Donald Trump Junior, Jorge Masvidal, and Junior dos Santos had some very nice things to say about Vitor Belfort following the victory.
“You are some fighter,” Trump said. “I have to tell you, you have a couple of friends between Jorge and Junior, and my son, my ‘junior,’ they said you’re going to do fantastically well…I said, ‘Well, but boxing’s not his thing.’ Junior said, ‘Yes it is, you just watch. The event was very pro-Trump as Belfort said: ‘Let's make America great again!' before entering the ring. Fans quickly started chanting the former President's name.
Donald Trump congratulated Belfort on his victory after the fight. Saying Holyfield was a really good win.
“Vitor, your stock was very high, but it’s even higher tonight because you beat somebody who is, I don’t know, I think probably one of the greatest of all time,” Trump continued. “There’s no question about Evander and we love Evander. I know Evander, and I’ve never seen that happen to Evander. I’ve been with Evander a long time and it’s just one of those things, you were really fantastic.”
2021 has been a strange year but Donald Trump commentating on a boxing match has to be one of the more surprising things to happen.
