Vitor Belfort made his name in MMA, the UFC more specifically. It appears as though those days are done for him as he competes in boxing.

Belfort is set to compete at Triller Fight Club Legends II on a Saturday, in the main event against heavyweight boxing great, Evander Holyfield. The bout has received quite a bit of criticism considering Holyfield's age and current fighting shape.

Vitor Belfort was once the UFC Heavyweight champion when he defeated Randy Couture via TKO. since then he's fought for the light heavyweight and middleweight title.

It looks like his time in MMA is over though. Good pay in boxing appears to be the priority for Vitor Belfort.

“The answer is that it’s looking like (I’m) not (going to return to MMA),” Belfort told MMA Junkie. “It’s not changing or adapting to what we think it should. The rules are not there for us. They’re not adapting in a way that’s safe for the fighters.

“Right now, fighters are having a short career, and the more violent it is, the shorter it becomes. It’s better for the promoters, not so good for the fighters. Right now, and even (UFC president) Dana White has said it, this is a young man’s sport. But guess what? I’ll box any champion in MMA and I can beat them up in a boxing match.”

Vitor Belfort has been going away from MMA since he left the UFC. He was supposed to compete in kickboxing at ONE Championship.

He has been very vocal about creating a ‘Legends League' and finding ways to prolong his combat sports career.

Now it appears he's found a way to do so with the circus fights that have been going on. The 44-year-old Vitor Belfort will look to knockout Holyfield and kick his boxing career off with a bang.
