The NFC East has been one of the busier divisions in the NFL this offseason, and for good reason. Considering the Washington Football team won the division with a 7-9 record, this division has plenty of room for improvement. However, the Philadelphia Eagles still have one glaring weakness that has to be addressed soon.

So far the front office has signed Joe Flacco, likely ensuring Jalen Hurts as the starting quarterback next year. They've also signed Anthony Harris, who is a solid safety in the league and gives the Eagles some leadership in the secondary.

Most of the acquisitions the front office has made as been for the defensive side of the ball. They haven't done much for the offense yet, which is surprising considering they're running it with a young quarterback next year. They've also let go of a few wide receivers, leaving the position rather thin, likely making Eagles fans a bit antsy.

This is by far the biggest need for the Eagles, as Jalen Reagor is the best receiver on the depth chart right now. He had a disappointing rookie season, but Philadelphia is hoping he improves in his second season. He finished 2020 with 31 receptions, 396 yards, and one touchdown.

If this team genuinely wants to improve, the front office has to find some help in the wide receiver department. Sure, they have Dallas Goedert chomping at the bit for more playing time, but even so, adding depth at receiver is ultimately what is going to help this team improve.

Top Receiver Options for the Eagles

Jalen Hurts, Eagles Free Agency, NFL Free Agency

Willie Snead

Not the most exciting name available in free agency, however, Snead can provide the Eagles with some veteran leadership for the young core. He's only 28 years old, which means he's more than capable of playing meaningful time for Philadelphia. Last season, Snead finished with 33 receptions, 432 yards, and three touchdowns.

Playing his last three years for the Baltimore Ravens, Snead is looking for a better situation this offseason. The Ravens don't utilize their receivers enough which is why their receivers never seem to produce. For Snead, he still has the potential to be a solid slot receiver in the league and could become a reliable target on third downs for Jalen Hurts.

Ja'Marr Chase

Assuming he's not drafted within the first five picks of the draft, the Eagles should highly consider selecting Ja'Marr Chase as the sixth overall pick. Chase is a fantastic receiver and looks to be one of the best prospects in years. He opted out of the 2020 season, however, that doesn't seem to deter anyone away from him. Chase is a big-bodied receiver this offense needs, as he finished his 2019 season with 84 receptions, 1,780 yards, and 20 touchdowns.

Chase would be the perfect receiver for the Eagles offense and would likely become Jalen Hurts' favorite target immediately. His highlight reel is amazing as he's proven to be a problem for some of the top cornerback prospects who are already in the NFL. His 6-0, 208 lbs frame makes him a perfect outside receiver this offense needs to improve. If he lands in Philadelphia, Chase has the talent to help the Eagles soar in the NFC East.
