Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz previously suffered a high ankle sprain in their Week 6 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. He was eventually placed on the team's injured reserve list which already caused him to miss four games. Head coach Doug Pederson recently spoke regarding Ertz's availability heading into a date with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday and it doesn't look good, as per NFL Network‘s James Palmer.

His last appearance on the field against the Ravens saw him generate a meager output of 33 yards on four receptions which wasn't enough as the Eagles narrowly lost on a 30-28 defeat.

Without him, the team went on to win their Week 7 and 8 encounters against the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys, respectively, before heading to their bye in Week 9.

Despite gaining momentum due to their two-game winning streak, the Eagles struggled anew as they succumbed to Big Blue in Week 10 via a 27-17 outcome followed by a loss against the Cleveland Browns in Week 11 on a 22-17 decision.

Without Ertz at the helm, the Eagles found themselves short of reliable weapons that can contribute to their aerial attack. Especially with the struggles of their quarterback in Carson Wentz, they opted to turn to their ground game headed by the running back duo of Miles Sanders and Boston Scott for opportunities to score on the offensive end.

A 3-6-1 record puts the Eagles in second place in the NFC East competition, one game behind the division-leading Washington Football Team. The Eagles will look to hold the fort until Zach Ertz gets to make his return on the field as the team heads to Week 12 to face a tough encounter against the dominant Seahawks.
