Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor side stepped controversy when responding to a local man's jibe at the Super Bowl champion via social media.

A Philadelphia man saved children's lives from a fire, catching the young ones who were dropping out of the window of a building. Speaking to a local CBS affiliate, the Philly man made a joke at the Eagles' Agholor's expense, saying “We was catching 'em … unlike [Nelson] Agholor.”

The 26-year-old Agholor, who has been with the NFC East franchise since 2015, has 28 targets through three games of the 2019 regular season and only 18 receptions for 168 yards, scoring three touchdowns. In Sunday's three-point home loss to the Detroit Lions, Agholor and franchise quarterback Carson Wentz failed to connect on four of his 12 intended passes.

Answering on Twitter, however, Agholor showed no malice against the Philly man, instead extending some Brotherly Love to the local hero.

“Thank you for being a hero in the community,” the former first-round selection wrote on social media. “Twitter help me out and get me in touch with him,” Agholor continued in an attempt to connect with the Philadelphia resident and bring him to an Eagles home game at Lincoln Financial Field.

Agholor appeared in every game for the Eagles last season, tallying 64 receptions for 736 yards and four touchdowns. In the 2017 NFL season, which ended with Philly's franchise first Super Bowl title over the New England Patriots, Agholor was a key offensive component for the team, recording a career-best 768 receiving yards in 16 games along with eight touchdowns.

It looks like the legend of Nelson Agholor's time in Philly continues to grow, with a meet-up with this local hero on the horizon.
