Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Sidney Jones has endured a rough start to his career. At this point, his primary concern is getting as healthy as possible for the 2019 NFL season.

Jones has struggled to find his footing in the NFL due to injury. According to Jeff McLane of The Inquirer, he admits it will be his main focus this offseason.

“It’s my No. 1 focus this offseason — getting right,” Jones said. “Show everybody what I can do. Facing adversity … it’s about moving forward. That’s the task at hand.”

Jones was once one of the most notable prospects in the 2017 NFL Draft before suffering a ruptured Achilles at his Pro Day. He ultimately wound up being selected by the Eagles with the 43rd overall pick. Unfortunately, his struggles did not end there.

Jones has since only managed to play in 10 games in his first two seasons in Philadelphia due to a lingering hamstring injury. He has registered just 36 combined tackles and three passes defenses during that time. As a result, there is growing concern about track record with injuries thus far.

Fortunately, Jones still has plenty of time to get back on the right track. Prior to his hamstring issues, he had etched out an integral role as the starting nickel corner. The Eagles' secondary will need all the help they can get given its current lack of depth. Cornerback Ronald Darby is set to hit the market as an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Jones will need to stay healthy if he hopes to potentially secure his job.
