Konami's eFootball 2022 is finally here, but it feels like you should hold out a little bit longer before diving into the pitch. The Pro Evolution Soccer successor has so far been a buggy mess, according to various reports and reviews. eFootball reviews are so bad right now that even for a free-to-play title, you might want to reconsider trying it out.

eFootball 2022 receives Overwhelmingly Negative Reviews on Steam

eFootball 2022 review scores on Steam have been overwhelmingly negative, indicating that the PC version of the game is very bad. Considering that it's a free-to-play title, it shouldn't have been that hard to at least get mixed reviews. However, mixed with Konami's infamy and the game's buggy state on the PC version, we now get the worst-reviewed PC game in Steam history. As of press time, the game currently has 11.6% approval rating on Steam, but it has received as low as 9%.

On the other hand, eFootball 2022‘s aggregate scores on Metacritic fair better on the critic side, but not so much on the user score side. The game's PC version has a 0.8 as of User Score as of press time for the PC version, 0.6 and 0.4 for the PS4 and PS5 versions, with pending reviews for Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions.

The game's troubled launch has been serious enough for Konami to release an official statement on Twitter. The statement reads:

Suikoden 1 Remaster, Suikoden 2 Remaster, Suikoden Remaster Release Delayed

“We are very sorry for the problems, and want to assure everyone we will take all concerns seriously and strive to improve the current situation. This work will be continuously updated, quality will be improved and content will be added consistently. From next week onward, we will prepare for an update in October, while receiving further opinions through questionnaires to our users.”

Konami, however, did not discuss how their supposed improvements will affect their planned roadmap. Given that the dev team will have to juggle the release of new content and updating of existing features, it might lead to crunch time again. Otherwise, it's a wonder how they will be able to manage their time altogether.
