Long may the Faker and T1 saga continue. Arguably the best player to ever grace the League of Legends scene, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has just committed his future to his long-time team, as he will still be playing for T1 for next season. The org released the announcement in a Twitter post on Friday. This will mark Faker's 10th season with the LCK side, as his first professional debut came with T1 back in 2013.

Faker's contract expired at the end of this season and fans were speculating as to whether he would continue his professional career with the same time. Now T1 has confirmed that the iconic mid laner has committed his future to the org yet again and will be playing for them in the 2022 season.

The nine-time LCK Champion and three-time World Champion remains among the top caliber of pro players in competitive League of Legends. Even as new guns have risen to fame, fans will still pay their utmost respect to Faker as an absolute legend in the game. Even though T1 has not been in their same streak of dominance, the team still hovers around the top spots in the LCK.

More recently, T1 also had a fantastic showing at the 2021 World Championship, cruising through the group stage and smashing their quarterfinal matchup. The squad did, however, have to cut their Worlds trip short as they fell 2-3 to fellow Korean side Damwon Gaming in the semifinals—no less against another rising mid lane star in Heo “ShowMaker” Su. Faker has still shown his reliability in the mid lane, and he was a veteran presence for the team with mostly rookies around him.

After re-signing with T1, the face of the org only had this to say: “I'm back.” His glory days are far from over, and Faker will hope to put up a statement with T1 in the coming year.
