The coronavirus pandemic has prevented certain teams from conducting physicals with free agents they've signed and the Atlanta Falcons can cross off an important name off of their list. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Todd Gurley passed his physical with Atlanta on Monday.

Earlier this offseason, the Los Angeles Rams released Gurley after the All-Pro running back had a disappointing campaign in 2019. At the same time, the Rams needed to make moves to create some cap space moving forward.

Following his release from Los Angeles, Gurley found himself agreeing to a deal with the Falcons. Seeing that he played his college football at Georgia, he was welcomed with open arms by the fans in Atlanta.

Though, without a doubt, the elephant in the room involving Gurley is the status of his knee. Before the 2019 season, it was discovered that Gurley had an ‘arthritic component' in his knee. As a result, it is unclear how Gurley's knee will respond as the years pass by.

Even when the Falcons inked a deal with Gurley, offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter admitted that the team was uncertain of Gurley's health status. But with Gurley passing his physical on Monday, that is a positive sign for the former first-round pick.

In his final season with the Rams, Gurley rushed for a career-low 857 yards on 223 attempts. While he scored 14 touchdowns, it was apparent that he wasn't the same elite rusher he was in previous seasons.

With that being said, after passing his physical, Gurley is anxious to prove everyone wrong in his first year with the Falcons.
