After the hot reception of the removal of the building mechanic from Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 2, Epic Games is looking at the idea to make it permanent, if leaks are to be believed.
It’s been a week since Fortnite stripped away building from battle royale. Since then, players have slowly adapted to this new style of play. Looks like the new “No Building Mode” could permanently stay in Fortnite.
During Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2’s launch, Epic dropped the bomb by removing building from battle royale. Hardcore fans were initially outraged by the fact that they need to adjust to the new meta. However, the removal of Fortnite’s core mechanic turned out to be beneficial for Epic Games. While hardcore fans took some time adjusting, casual fans started coming back to try out the less intimidating mode. After some positive feedback and a sudden rise in player count, “No Building Mode” could become permanent.

According to Fortnite leaker TweaBR, Epic is planning to keep “No Building Mode” as an LTM in Fortnite. They also mentioned that the LTM will be available for Solo, Duos, Trios, and Squads. Even though TweaBR said that “No Building Mode” is going to be an LTM, there are chances it could become permanent eventually. There are numerous LTMs that eventually became permanent game modes such as “Team Rumble” just to name one. Plus, after receiving positive reactions from the player base, chances are high that “No Building Mode’ is here to stay.
The queen of Twitch herself, Pokimane, recently streamed some Fortnite gameplay with her buddies. She mentions that hopefully, the new game mode will stick around even if it’s just for a little while. Also, Pokimane expressed a lot of enthusiasm on how fun the new meta in Fortnite is. If a star streamer such as herself thinks that no building in Fortnite is fun, Epic is bound to make the game mode permanent.
