The New York Giants have worked on addressing their biggest needs this offseason, and on offense, it was clear that they had to get some more playmakers for quarterback Daniel Jones to have at his disposal. The Giants went out and drafted one of the top wide receivers available in the 2024 NFL Draft in Malik Nabers, but they made another move on Thursday morning to prove that they aren't done adding to the position just yet.

There are a handful of veteran wide receivers still sitting on the free agent market, with one of them being former Pro Bowler Allen Robinson. Robinson has had three straight down years with the Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, and Pittsburgh Steelers, but he has now latched on with the Giants in hopes of putting together a bounce back campaign with Jones as his new quarterback.

Robinson was one of the best outside wide receivers in the league at a point in time, and he seemed to be set for stardom with the Jacksonville Jaguars after he earned his first Pro Bowl nod in 2015. That has been his only Pro Bowl nod, though, as Robinson tore his ACL in 2017, only to turn things around with the Bears for three seasons before their quarterback struggles eventually took a toll on his production.

Since then, Robinson has endured horrid campaigns with the Rams and Steelers, as he cannot seem to find any sort of consistent quarterback play no matter where he goes. And while he has to be excited with the chance to join the Giants, Jones isn't exactly a sure thing under center either.

As he enters his age 31 season, Robinson's best days are probably behind him, but he still has the ability to make plays on intermediate and deep routes down the field when the ball gets thrown his way. He struggles to consistently create separation on his routes, though, which makes it tough to justify throwing him the ball on a consistent basis.

Working alongside Nabers, who should be an instant stud for New York, should help open up the field a bit for Robinson. If he can find gaps in deeper parts of the field, he will be able to get open and make some plays for New York. Much of that depends on him getting on the same page as Jones, which is something he struggled to do at his previous two stops.

Robinson's upside is clear, and while the details of this deal aren't known yet, chances are the Giants aren't shelling out tons of money to bring him to town. This could ultimately end up being a solid under the radar move for New York, but Robinson has a lot to prove as he attempts to show he still has some juice in the tank. Whether he can accomplish that on the Giants rag-tag offense remains to be seen, though.
