Kris Bryant's name continues to be one of the most discussed with the MLB Trade Deadline quickly approaching. Multiple teams have been linked to the Cubs all-star and now, the San Francisco Giants can be added to the mix.

Chicago is set to to sell off at least a couple of their key pieces after fizzling out big time right before the all-star break. Meanwhile, the Giants continue to surprise everyone while leading the NL West. With San Francisco in buy mode, Jon Morosi of MLB Network is reporting that they are indeed targeting Bryant.

Morosi did go on to note that if the Cubs want Joey Bart, it is Chicago who would likely have to add more than just Bryant to any trade talks.

“Bart, the former No. 2 overall pick, likely would be available only in a deal that involves players in addition to Bryant, a free agent after this year. Bryant would have great value to the Giants, with whom he could play 1B, 3B, and LF.” – Jon Morosi.

Certainly the Giants aren't the only team targeting Bryant with the deadline set for Friday afternoon. There seems to be little doubt that the Cubs will move on from their versatile all-star with Chicago out of contention and Bryant set to hit free agency at the end of the year.

Bryant's status of being a “rental” player hurts his trade value some but the Cubs should still get a haul in return. The Giants will be one of many in the mix as the Cubs look to sell.
