In the wake of the NBA Finals, it really looks as if the Golden State Warriors will be in the title picture for many more seasons to come.
The folks over in Vegas certainly agree with that notion, as the oddsmakers have just released their futures odds for the 2018 season and have the Warriors pegged as odds-on favorites at a price of -150 (courtesy of Odds Shark). In other words, a $150 bet on the Dubs will net a bettor just $100.
While betting on the Warriors does make for an easy buck on paper, perhaps it would be better to place stakes on other title contenders instead that can truly challenge the Dubs next season for even bigger returns. The Cleveland Cavaliers are decently-priced right now at +300 ($300 in winnings for a $100 bet), and so are the San Antonio Spurs with even more attractive odds of +1,500.
Or, one could life on the edge and wage a pretty penny on the Los Angeles Lakers, who are long shots at a whopping +30,000. But really, banking on the Lakers to win the NBA title in 2018 is only for true “Big Ballers” like LaVar Ball, who called Nike's bluff and missed out on a massive endorsement deal for his son, Lonzo.
