LeBron James is not happy Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant was in the Most Improved Player race, let alone win the award. But hey, that is by no means a criticism from the Los Angeles Lakers star.

After watching Morant dominate in the first of Game 2 between the Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors, James just couldn't help but wonder why the All-Star guard was even mentioned in the MIP talks. For him, the 22-year-old was already a star since he arrived in the NBA.

The MIP award is often given to role players who had a breakout season, which is why it's bizarre for star players to even be in the conversation. Besides, Morant was already Rookie of the Year in 2019-20 and he has been just playing like a superstar ever since.

James went on to call the majority of the voters for the awards as “dweebs” who doesn't watch or understand basketball.

“JA so damn tough!!!! There's no way Ja should even have been in MIP talks. This guy is a flat out [star] and always have been!! Real basketball [brains] know. Not the majority of dweebs who don't even watch basketball on those voting ballots,” LeBron wrote on Twitter.

For what it's worth, LeBron James is not alone in his sentiment. That was also what a lot of fans argued when Ja Morant won MIP.

The Grizzlies youngster himself thought he doesn't deserve the award, noting that his teammate Desmond Bane should have won it instead.

Regardless of the varying opinions, though, there's one thing we can all agree on: Morant is a legitimate superstar.
