Since the Memphis Grizzlies relieved David Fizdale of his head coaching duties, there have been numerous reports about what went wrong. Most of these reports center around Fizdale's relationship with Marc Gasol, which reached an all-time low when the three-time All-Star was benched against the Brooklyn Nets.

As the Grizzlies look to end their nine-game losing streak on Nov. 30 against the San Antonio Spurs, Ken Berger of Bleacher Report reports Gasol's opinion of his former head coach:

“Gasol had been chafing for a long time,” a person familiar with the player's thinking told B/R. “He had two pretty good coaches in Dave and Lionel, and he felt this guy was a little bit of a [phony].”

While there has been uncertainty about Gasol's future in Memphis, general manager Chris Wallace is currently not considering rebuilding by trading him or Mike Conley. As a result, the Grizzlies will be looking to make the playoffs for the eighth consecutive season.

Through the chaos, the Grizzlies received good news as Conley is expected to return in 2-3 weeks from his Achilles injury. Once Conley returns, it will be interesting to see if Wallace changes his mind depending on the team's record leading up to the February trade deadline.
