Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young will hope to have another huge campaign for his team in the upcoming 2020-2021 NBA season. The 22-year-old recently saw action in the Hawks' first preseason game on Friday against the Orlando Magic where he tallied seven points, two rebounds, and six assists through 22 minutes played.

However, his performance was marred by six turnovers that accounted for the team's total of 23 for the entire game. In a postgame video meeting, Young admitted that he needs to take care of the ball more and slow it down as he is poised to have the ball in his hands for the majority of the team's possessions, as per Fox Sports: Hawks.

After a busy offseason, the Hawks have finally come up with a squad that is looking to compete and fight for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference for the upcoming season. Their new pieces in swingman Bogdan Bogdanovic chalked up nine points, four rebounds, and two assists in 23 minutes played while veteran forward Danilo Gallinari generated 14 points and four rebounds in 20 minutes of action.

The team's other significant additions in Rajon Rondo, Kris Dunn, and Tony Snell were all sidelined in the preseason game as they are still currently nursing their respective injuries.

Despite being dealt with a 116-112 loss in their first preseason game of the season, the Hawks still have plenty to look forward to, come the regular season. Trae Young will continue to have the Hawks' young core available at his disposal with the likes of Cam Reddish, De'Andre Hunter, and John Collins including their latest lottery pick in rookie Onyeka Okongwu.

Heading into his third campaign in the league, Trae Young will aim to make his second-straight All-Star appearance and ultimately lead his team back to relevance moving forward. Hopefully, learning how to limit his turnovers will indeed help him achieve the goals that he has in mind for the upcoming season.
