Atlanta Hawks All-Star Trae Young is already bringing out his bag of tricks this early in the preseason. Young and the rest of the rejuvenated Hawks returned to the hardwood on Friday against the Orlando Magic at the State Farm Arena. The 22-year-old shooter did not waste any time, as he used Nikola Vucevic's wide-open stance to drop a highlight reel-worthy pass.

We're still a few weeks away from Christmas, but Young already brought out the nutmeg with this brilliant find to his wide-open teammate Clint Capela. Here's the magnificent dish that caught the Magic frontline off guard.

After finding himself in a mismatch against the 7-foot Montenegrin, Trae Young wisely pulled back to survey the scene. Clint Capela, for his part, made a phenomenal read and cut straight to the middle for arguably one of the easiest baskets of his life.

Trae Young, meanwhile, looks like he is still getting his legs back following Atlanta's rather long lay-off this year. The Hawks were not invited to the bubble at Walt Disney World after their horrendous 20-47 finish in the 2019-20 campaign. Young emerged as the team's franchise player last season, averaging 29.6 points on 43.7 percent shooting from the field and 36.1 from downtown in 60 games. He also collected 4.2 rebounds, 9.3 assists, and 1.1 steals in his sensational sophomore season.

The Hawks re-tooled greatly this offseason to surround Young with some much-needed help. They signed tested veterans like Rajon Rondo, Danilo Gallinari, and Bojan Bogdanovic in free agency, and picked Onyeka Okungwu in the 2020 Draft. The Hawks are expected to make a splash in the East this season. For sure, we can expect more passes like this from Young once the regular season officially starts.
