After a rather uneventful stint with the Washington Wizards, Montrezl Harrell was involved in a trade that sent him to the Charlotte Hornets. The team needed some depth in the big man positions, and Harrell seemed like the guy for them. In his first game there, the ex-Wizards big man proved his worth.

Coming off the bench, Harrell scored 15 points on his usual efficient scoring, along with six rebounds and a block and steal apiece. This performance led to a huge 141 – 119 Hornets win over the Detroit Pistons. After the game, Harrell tweeted out his feelings on  his new team, saying:

“This is the most fun I had playing this game in a while I can’t lie man it feel amazing!”

Harrell was dealt to the Wizards as part of the massive Russell Westbrook trade in the off-season. The team initially found a lot of success in the early parts of the regular season. However, the Wizards subsequently fell apart, leading to a massive fire sale that saw Harrell go to the Hornets.

The Hornets now get a solid rim-running big who will make their games more exciting to watch than they already are. As for Harrell, he will definitely feast on the opportunities that he'll get with playing alongside LaMelo Ball. This move is what Charlotte hopes be the move that pushes them from fringe playoff contention to a solid postseason contender.

Be on the lookout for Hornets games in the future. We can likely expect a bunch of highlights involving Ball and Harrell.
