Ice Cube agrees with what LaVar Ball is doing with his sons

With how many people LaVar has beefed with in the past due to his statements, it is new to see that someone actually agrees with him on something.

LaVar Ball is one of the most controversial figures in world basketball right now. He had a series of controversial statements about not only basketball, but women as well, and right now, all the talk is about his shoe company, the Big Baller Brand. The brand with only one shoe right now, the ZO2's made for his son Lonzo Ball, has been in the news a lot, especially since LaVar is using any kind of media exposure to advertise the first signature shoes of his son.

One of those marketing stunts was the bet made with rapper Ice Cube, when Ice Cube said that, if LaVar makes a shot from the four-point line exclusive for Cube's Big3 league, he will buy 10 pairs of ZO2's. LaVar accepted the challenge, and we are yet to see if the guy who said he would beat Michael Jordan 1 on 1 can make the shot and make Ice Cube spend around $5,000 on his shoes.

However, in the meantime, Ice has actually praised LaVar for what he is doing with his sons.

“I think it's great,” Ice Cube said in an interview with DIME. “There’s nothing wrong with one man banking on himself or his children, nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong with breaking the mold and I commend him for trying to break the mold of bowing down to the shoe companies and creating something himself. As a father, I definitely respect him for believing in his son and trying to get exposure for him and for the most part, I agree with what he’s doing. Of course, just like anybody, I’d probably have a different approach here and there. But, for the most part, there’s no other college kid being talked about. So, he’s done his job. Now, it’s up to his kid to put it on the court and do his job.”

With how many people LaVar has beefed with in the past due to his statements, it is relatively new to see that someone actually agrees with him on something. While we might all, on some or another level, agree with LaVar in terms of how he is raising his kids and praising them, it is hard to get behind the things he said about Kyrie Irving and about women in the past.

However, we can definitely get behind the immense belief he has in the ability of all of his sons.
