If you happened to notice LeBron James sitting in the stands at Staples Center on Sunday night — no it wasn't the Los Angeles Lakers star time-traveling — thought I wouldn't put it past him, considering his ability to turn back the clock.

However, you wouldn't be blamed for being spooked by the eerie (and hilarious) image. That said, designer Patrick Christopher easily had the best Halloween costume of the night at Staples. The internet, and the Real LeBron, noticed.

During the second quarter of the Lakers' 95-85 win over the Houston Rockets, after LeBron flushed a two-handed reverse dunk on a fast-break, Spectrum SportsNet cameras caught Christopher — dressed uncannily as James — placing both LeBrons, for a moment, in the same frame.

Lakers Twitter account @ThePettiestLA tweeted out the image, which quickly went viral on #LakersTwitter, and eventually garnered a response from the man himself.

After the game, ESPN's Dave McMenamin revealed the identity of the doppelgänger, who, as it turns out, has a decade-long relationship with James.

(By the way, as somebody who was sitting nearby and hung out around the court before the game, I can say I was utterly aghast and confused as I walked by Christopher talking to folks while LeBron was purportedly in the Lakers' locker room.)

On his Instagram story, Christopher shouted out LeBron for the newfound attention. “Bron, all of this has my phone blowing up bro… Call my people for ‘Space Jam 3′” he wrote. Not surprisingly, his Instagram comments are busy (h/t Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen & Roll.)

According to the New York Post, Christopher was in attendance to see his brother, Rockets rookie guard Joshua Christopher.

In addition to phenomenal costumes and style, Patrick Christopher has an uplifting and notable backstory, as you can learn about in David Aldridge's 2020 profile of him in The Athletic. He pursued his own hoops career overseas until finally landing a roster spot with the Utah Jazz. However, five minutes into his fourth NBA game, he blew out his knee, ending his hoop dreams. Since then, he found success with his fashion line, “Sloan and Bennett.”

As Aldrige noted, LeBron and Christopher's relationship dates back to 2007, and James has been a supporter of his company.

“He’d been a counselor at James’ camps starting in 2007, while he was playing at Cal, and has kept in touch over the years with all of the members of James’ inner circle – Randy Mims, Maverick Carter and Rich Paul, now James’ agent,” Aldridge wrote.

James memorably wore a Sloan and Bennett T-shirt in the bubble, which was inspired by the murder of George Floyd.

“He knows his platform, he knows his voice. And he uses it,” Christopher told The Athletic about LeBron wearing the 8:46 shirt. “For him to do that, that’s dope.”

LeBron also wore a Sloan and Bennett hoodie honoring Kobe and Gianna Bryant during the 2021 All-Star selection show.

James and his Lakers teammates deserve plaudits for their own commitment to Halloween. James went as Freddy Krueger, Russell Westbrook went full-Chucky, and Anthony Davis, most impressively, donned a masterful Candyman. 10/10. Check ‘ em out here.

In LeBron and AD's postgame press conference, SCNG's Kyle Goon asked who had the best Halloween costume. Here was their response:

Clearly, the real answer was Patrick Christopher.
