Right on schedule, another star player is ready for a change of scenery. According to The Athletic, Victor Oladipo is “looking to move on” from the Indiana Pacers “this offseason.”

On the daily Locked On Pacers Podcast, host Tony East explains why the Pacers have options and why they shouldn't rush to trade Victor Oladipo right now.

Tony East: So, Victor Oladipo is looking to move on this offseason. I think we've seen a lot of signs pointing in this direction for a while, but we've never had any concrete reporting on it.

It seems like his value can't really go down prior to the trade deadline next season, now thqt the machinations of trades that may be available come trade deadline time may be smaller as teams are no longer going for it. I don't think Oladipo's value can go down, he didn't play super awesome in The Bubble. It's still unclear who he is coming back from this injury, his value's definitely less than ideal right now to me, so there's no reason to do it.

The opportunity cost could be that he recuperates some value during the season and then the Pacers could trade him then. They can also bet on their own culture if the team really wants to do that. I'm not saying they should do that if he's unhappy now, then betting on the thing that has made him unhappy might not be the move. It just makes sense to me to wait longer into the season to do anything.
