The Houston Rockets came into this season with a renewed confidence, especially after making key additions to their roster and turning over the reins to new coach Mike D'Antoni

Their 12-7 record places the Rockets fourth in the tough Western Conference at this point, and following their double-overtime win against title-favorite Golden State Warriors, their collective confidence is at an all-time high.

The team's starting point guard, Patrick Beverley, discussed the importance of Thursday night's win, and the message it sends to the rest of the league:

“It was a statement to show the whole NBA we can complete with anybody in this league. We’re a very confident team, that’s one thing coach has instilled in this team, especially in the beginning [of the season]. We can play and we can beat anybody and that’s our type of swag. We’re not cocky, we’re just confident.”

Rockets superstar James Harden echoed his backcourt partner's sentiments, discussing what they need to do to continue their current success:

“Confidence for sure, we can compete with anybody in this league. You know we got a long way to go. A new team, new coaching staff, but if we can put everything together, the sooner the better, we can compete with anybody.”

It remains to be seen what the win over the Warriors will do for Houston moving forward, but it is expected that it will give them a huge boost. With Harden running the offense and their collective success so far, the Rockets have every right to believe they can compete with anybody in the NBA.
