Luk Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are on the brink of booking their spot in the second round of the playoffs. A win for the Mavs in Game 6 on Thursday night will send the Utah Jazz packing and Dallas facing off against the winner of the Suns-Pelicans series.

The Mavs have been doing a good job in containing Jazz superstar Donovan Mitchell, particularly from distance. In the first five games of the series, Mitchell has gone just 8-of-41 from 3-point range for a miserable 19.5-percent shooting clip. Mitchell himself conceded that the Mavs' defense has been a major factor not only in his own struggles, but that of the entire Jazz squad as well:

”They've scrambled extremely hard,” Mitchell said, via Grant Afseth of Fan Nation. ”It's a lot to continuously run teams off the line, and they've done a good job of it. They've made us uncomfortable.”

Mitchell and Co. will need to win on Thursday to keep their season alive. Defeat means that they will head to another early summer vacation. If this happens, there's no denying that a lot of questions will be asked in the offseason for this team.
