A brief clip of Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert draining a 3-pointer in practice has recently been making its rounds on social media.

The video was shared by the two-time Defensive Player of the Year winner himself, who even added a very interesting caption in his tweet:

What Gobert seems to be implying here is that he may soon be adding a 3-point shot to his arsenal. Is he going to be the next NBA big man who impressively evolves his game by instantly — and almost mysteriously — adding a long-distance shot? While this is what the 7-foot-1 center seems to be leading on here, the realistic odds of this happening is slim to none.

Gobert is now in his seventh year in the league, and during this span, he has only attempted a grand total of three 3-pointers. Not surprisingly, he missed all three attempts, and while we are not exactly sure about the nature of these attempts, we're guessing they're likely of the last-second heave variety.

It's not as if Gobert needs to add a 3-pointer to his game, though. Right now, he is one of the best defenders in the entire league, and his back-to-back DPOY titles are certainly testament to this fact. This season, the 27-year-old has been his usual dominant self and is actually averaging a career-best 13.6 rebounds per contest, with 10.8 of them (also a career high) coming on the defensive end. On top of that, Gobert is also putting up 13.7 points (on 69.4 percent shooting), 1.1 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.6 blocks in 34.8 minutes per ballgame.
