High-flying Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell continues to pick up where his splendid rookie season left off.

During the waning moments of the first half and with the Jazz ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers 58-53, Mitchell dribbled at center court and then beat Rajon Rondo as he went to his right. Lakers guard Lance Stephenson — who broke Jeff Green's ankles with a nifty shake n' bake move on Tuesday — came over to help on defense. However, the sophomore guard quickly spun to his left to leave “Born Ready” in his dust.

As Javale McGee made a feeble attempt to defend Mitchell, the latter was already airborne. Mitchell threw down a vicious right-handed tomahawk jam which sent the Vivint Smart Home Arena crowd into a frenzy.

The sophomore sensation continues to pour it on. Donovan Mitchell has been averaging 23.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists through 70 games during the 2019-20 NBA season.

Mitchell is currently 18th in the NBA in scoring, besting the likes of 2017 NBA MVP Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors and DeMar DeRozan of the San Antonio Spurs. That's making a major statement.

The dunk was the main highlight of Mitchell's night though, as he had a subpar performance with 11 points (on 3-of-11 shooting), four rebounds and four assists. Nevertheless, expect Mitchell to come back stronger as the Jazz (45-30) continue to slug it out for the fifth seed in the Western Conference.

As for the 33-42 Lakers? Their 2019 NBA Draft preparation can't come soon enough.
