Since entering the NBA, Utah Jazz big man Rudy Gobert has established himself as one of the best rim protectors in the league. However, there's more to his game than just rejecting and changing shots inside the paint, as he also has the talent to score as well, especially when near the basket.
The French international proved just that on Thursday against the Phoenix Suns, as he showed that he can throw down a powerful dunk, even with a defender in front of him. He pulled off a powerful one-handed slam, which posterized Marquese Chriss, and literally rocked the rim.

With Gordon Hayward deciding not to re-sign with the Jazz last summer, Rudy Gobert knew that he will relied upon more by his team, to lead them once again to a playoff appearance. He has since been up to the challenge and producing solid numbers of 13.7 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.3 blocks in 32.1 minutes per game. Together with Donovan Mitchell and Ricky Rubio, they are leading the team's charge, as they continue to battle for one of the last postseason berths in the Western Conference.
The good news is that the Jazz won on the night in a blowout, 116-88 . That brought their record to 39-30 season, currently good for seventh place. They have been one of the hottest teams in the league right now, having won 20 of their last 22 outings, leading to their current position in the standings. If they will be able to sustain their hot streak, there's no doubt that they can make the playoffs, especially with Gobert playing big for them.
