The New York Jets picked up their first win of the season on Sunday, defeating the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 24-22, but at 1-4, the Jets' chances of making the playoffs in the tough AFC seem slim.

As a result, there has been some trade chatter in New York ahead of the Week 8 deadline, and one name that has been bandied around as a guy who could be on the move is Leonard Williams, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that multiple teams have inquired about the availability of the defensive lineman.

But Williams isn't letting the rumors get to him:

“I wouldn’t say it makes me uneasy,” said Williams, according to Brian Costello of The New York Post. “You see the best players in the league get traded and it’s not like it’s a personal thing. It’s just the way the business is and I can’t take anything personal. That’s why I can’t really focus on it because I can’t really control it. The best thing I can control is my play and wherever I end up, just focus on that.”

Through five games in 2019, Williams has logged 13 tackles.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Southern California, was originally selected by the Jets with the sixth overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, but has not lived up to expectations.

He did make the Pro Bowl in 2016, finishing with 68 tackles, seven sacks and a couple of forced fumbles, but since then, Williams' inconsistent play has been a regular topic of discussion in New York.

As a matter of fact, since 2016, Williams has accumulated just seven sacks in total.
