The Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest is set to begin and all eyes are on Joey Chestnut once again. He currently has 14 titles under his belt and a victory at the 4th of July's big event gives him his 15th Mustard Belt. The most winningest athlete of all time will face some adversity on Monday though, as he's battling through an injury.

According to Darren Rovell, Joey “Jaws” Chestnut will be competing on crutches as he is healing from a ruptured tendon in his right foot. The 15-time champion is so dominant, that an injury might just be what a challenger needs to pull off the upset. Even so, Chestnut is going to perform as best as possible with an injured foot.

Regardless, Chestnut is still confident in himself for the upcoming Hot Dog Eating Contest. During an interview, the GOAT claims, “I'm gonna eat like a madman. It's all right. I'll be able to stand up and eat. I'm excited,” per Sports Illustrated.

Chestnut has an opportunity to break his own record on Monday. Last year, “Jaws” whoofed down 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Although he's battling through a ruptured tendon, the defending champion will have a chance to surpass that number. If he does that, then we will witness him overcome an incredible feat reminiscent of Michael Jordan's flu game.

Crutches, no crutches, dipping water, no dipping water, it doesn't matter. Joey Chestnut is going to go out there and put on a spectacular performance at the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, despite dealing with a ruptured tendon. Make sure to tune in to ESPN at 12 P.M. Eastern to watch the GOAT make history once again.
