New York Knicks owner James Dolan didn't consider hiring Rich Kleiman as president of the franchise, according to Marc Berman of The New York Post.

Kleiman is a life-long Knicks fans and he's currently Kevin Durant's manager.

If owner James Dolan went with another agent/manager type in Rich Kleiman, who is partnered with Kevin Durant, Mark Jackson would’ve been a shoo-in for the Knicks job. Dolan didn’t consider Kleiman, fearing Knicks fans still blame Kleiman for failing to deliver KD, according to sources.

The Knicks are reportedly going to hire Leon Rose to replace Steve Mills, who was reassigned. Rose is a former NBA agent.

New York is 17-27 on the season and in 13th place in the Eastern Conference standings. While they are only six games behind the eighth-placed Orlando Magic, their inconsistency doesn't raise hopes that they will be able to turn things around in the second half of the season.

It will be interesting to see who Rose hires as his new coach. Odds are he won't keep Mike Miller, although the interim coach has done a good job all things considered.

New York’s roster is pretty flawed, however. Rose has to hire the right coach to lead the Knicks moving forward.

Also, James Dolan has to stay out of the way and let Rose try and work his magic like Bob Myers has done for the Golden State Warriors and Rob Pelinka has with the Los Angeles Lakers. Both Myers and Pelinka were agents at one point.
