The New York Knicks have been pegged as potential buyers as the trade deadline approaches. Victor Oladipo and Lonzo Ball are a couple of big names that have been linked to a move to The Big Apple prior to March 25th and at this point, Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau has decided to address the rumors.

When asked about the prospect of bringing in new players via trade, coach Thibs was rather cryptic in his response:

“One, that would be a [Knicks team president Leon Rose] question,’’ Thibodeau said, via Marc Berman of the New York Post. “I think it’s that time of the year where a million things get talked about. Oftentimes everything is talked about and nothing happens. With social media [giving] attention to everything that’s going on, players get used to that stuff. It’s hard on them too. You just got to stay focused.

“I love our team. Leon, Wes [William Wesley] and Scott [Perry] have a job to do. At the end of the day, if something can make the team better, we’ll consider it. If not, we love the guys we have.’’

This is pretty much the Knicks coach saying that yes, a trade would be good, but if that doesn't happen then that's fine too.

To be fair, the Knicks have exceeded expectations so far this season as they continue to hunt for a postseason spot out East. They've done so with the team that they currently have, so as Thibs implied above, he's more than willing to go to war with this group right here.

Nevertheless, adding a guy like Oladipo or Ball wouldn't hurt at all. Both players have been rumored to be on their way out of the Houston Rockets and the New Orleans Pelicans, respectively, and for their part, the Knicks have to at least do their due diligence on both guys.
