If the New York Knicks hire Kevin Durant's manager, Rich Kleiman, to be their next team president, he would reportedly hire Mark Jackson as head coach, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.

Jackson currently works for ESPN. He hasn’t gotten another head coaching job since getting fired by the Golden State Warriors. Jackson played 500 games for the Knicks during his NBA career. He was the 1988 Rookie of the Year with New York:

If Rich Kleiman were to run the Knicks, sources close to him said he’d likely hire former St. John’s star Mark Jackson as head coach. Kleiman has a long relationship with Jackson and, sources said, he believed that Jackson should have been the hire in 2018 when David Fizdale got the gig.

After missing out on Durant and Kyrie Irving in free agency this past summer, the Knicks used their cap space on Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, Marcus Morris, Wayne Ellington, Elfrid Payton and Reggie Bullock.

That’s a lot of power forwards on one team and guys who don’t really move the needle. The Knicks fired David Fizdale, but he wasn't really given a fair shake since the roster he was coaching was pretty putrid.

The Knicks are desperate right now. Nothing has gone right for them this decade. At this point, the franchise will always be terrible as long as James Dolan is the owner, but maybe Kleiman and his camp could turn the organization around.
