While the official schedule for the NBA hasn't been revealed yet, it appears that some players around the league may have some knowledge of some of the premier games to come in the 2020-21 season.

If Jared Dudley's expert opinion holds true, the Los Angeles Lakers could be looking to play the Los Angeles Clippers on opening night.

With Dudley following through with ESPN's Brian Windhorst's report, the Lakers will then play the Golden State Warriors shortly afterwards on Christmas Day, which would be three days later after the NBA and NBPA agreed to commence the 2020-21 season starting on Dec. 22.

The Warriors are looking to return to contention once more after having a rather stalling season with injuries to both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, with Thompson's ACL injury keeping him sidelined all of last season.

For the Clippers, the once-ignited rivalry lost a bit of its steam this past postseason after the Clippers didn't hold up their end of the bargain in meeting the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals, succumbing to a 3-1 comeback mounted by the Denver Nuggets in Round 2.

Much remains to be seen as to how the offseason will play out for the Lakers. Their first order of business will be taking care of Anthony Davis and the signing of his new contract to keep him in the fold for hopefully another four years.

Afterwards, perimeter shooting will be a huge concern for the Hollywood squad that saw a decline in 3-point shooting this past season, primarily with Danny Green and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope not excelling from beyond the arc much. Kyle Kuzma may be a player on the move as well, given the recent reports of him wanting a “sizable deal” from the Lakers soon.

Free agency will open on Nov. 20, allowing teams to negotiate such deals.
