An anonymous Western Conference executive says the Los Angeles Lakers don't have to do too much this summer to get better, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

The Lakers are missing the playoffs this season, which means star LeBron James will have the entire summer off for the first time since 2005 — his second season in the NBA during his first tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The exec believes some minor tweaks here and there will propel Los Angeles to a bounce back season in 2019-20.

“I don’t think the Lakers have to do that much to be good,” one Western Conference executive said. “LeBron is like a trampoline. If they do just a little, take a little jump, they bounce right up with him.”

The Lakers will try and trade for New Orleans Pelicans superstar power forward Anthony Davis again this summer. The franchise will also probably pursue some of the top free agents, such as Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler and Kemba Walker.

Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka did a terrible job of surrounding James with shooters this season. After LeBron signed with Los Angeles, Johnson and Pelinka added Rajon Rondo, Lance Stephenson, Michael Beasley and JaVale McGee.
