Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis struggled mightily in their 116-111 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

Though he admitted that the new environment of the season restart has been a bit bothersome, Davis isn't about to make any excuses about his performances:

“It’s not an excuse, though,” he said, via the Orange County Register. “I still have to be better. I’m getting good looks. Especially when I’ve had two games when I shot the ball well.”

Specifically, the Lakers star mentioned the lighting and background as a hindrance to shooting at times. But, again, he doesn't want to make excuses given he has had some big games in the bubble.

Davis ended Saturday night with just eight points on a horrid 3-of-14 shooting. He also added eight rebounds, four assists, two steals, two blocks, and four turnovers to round out his forgettable evening.

The seven-time All-Star hasn't been quite himself since he poured in 42 points in a win over the Utah Jazz last week. Over the Lakers' past three outings, Davis is averaging just 11.3 points and 9.3 rebounds while shooting just 33.3 percent from the field. He scored single digits in two of the three games, including this recent eight-point dud against Indiana.

LeBron James also echoed some similar sentiments as Davis, saying that he hasn't played in a venue without a crowd since high school. The King, however, didn't seem to have much trouble against the Pacers, dropping 31 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists in the loss.

As Davis noted, the unfamiliar setting of the bubble games shouldn't be an excuse for his poor play so far. Like their superstar forward, the Lakers have struggled as well, going just 2-4 through six games so far.

Though they have locked up the top seed in the West, they should use these last two contests to flex their muscles and carry more momentum heading into the playoffs.
